Summer Project Assistant (Administrative & Research Support - Care)
Temporary - Full Time (16 weeks from May to end August)
5 shifts/ week
7.5 hours per shift
-Opportunities to assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of various special health care projects promoting best practices in the organization, enhancing occupational health & safety, work ethics and productivity; various care related quality improvement projects, resident engagement and life enrichment projects;
-Creates, collect resources and organizes various documents and electronic information for the projects;
-Liaises with various parties regarding the projects;
-Assists in arranging and participates in meetings and activities regarding the projects;
-May have the opportunity to assist in the nursing process.
Successful candidates will be in an undergraduate Nursing/Health related program or equivalent; work experience in a long-term care setting an advantage; excellent computer skills; well developed interpersonal and communication skills; ability to prioritize work and work independently in a team setting; good documentation skills.
This is a Canada Summer Job (CSJ) funded position. To be considered for the position you must meet below criteria to be eligible for funding:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
English; proven effective communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) an asset
