On October 5, 13 exciting graduates (family members, volunteers, staff) have just finished their 2-day nationally recognized certificate training, and proudly sharing that “I am trained to provide Mental Health First Aid”! Mental Health First Aid Seniors (MHFA Seniors) is an international program active in over 20 countries. In Canada, MHFA training and courses are developed and mandated through The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). Wing Kei believes in promoting mental health in seniors, we recognize the importance of early intervention, and that mental health knowledge is key to all. Fortunate to have in house certified trainers, Wing Kei provides regular training on “MHFA Seniors” since 2018.
To celebrate the 2019 Alberta Seniors' Week, the Minister of Seniors and Housing, the Honourable Josephine Pon made special visits to Wing Kei's all three facilities on June 2, 2019, including the Crescent Heights long-term care, Greenview supportive living, and Greenview long-term care. Minister Pon was greeted by our executive and management teams, also by Wing Kei residents.
It’s a day of Celebration and Thanksgiving! Since early November, Wing Kei Greenview Long-term Care is new home to 80 seniors. On December 14, 2018, an official opening ceremony was held at Wing Kei Greenview. One picture is worth a thousand words, let's check out some of the highlight here.

We understand the process of finding a new home for your loved ones may be challenging but we are here to support you in the decision making and application process. If your loved one has been assessed by Alberta Health Services and deemed suitable for admitting to a long term care facility, please make sure that you request the file to be considered by both Wing Kei Crescent Heights and Wing Kei Greenview Long Term Care (our second long term care facility).
