It’s a day of Celebration and Thanksgiving! Since early November, Wing Kei Greenview Long-term Care is new home to 80 seniors. On December 14, 2018, an official opening ceremony was held at Wing Kei Greenview. One picture is worth a thousand words, let's check out some of the highlight here.
We are excited to share with you the current news and future growth of Wing Kei. Our new long term care facility at Greenview is home for 80 seniors starting November 2018. What about the application procedures you should know if you or your loved ones want to apply to the residential or day programs of Wing Kei?
We understand the process of finding a new home for your loved ones may be challenging but we are here to support you in the decision making and application process. If your loved one has been assessed by Alberta Health Services and deemed suitable for admitting to a long term care facility, please make sure that you request the file to be considered by both Wing Kei Crescent Heights and Wing Kei Greenview Long Term Care (our second long term care facility). For detailed procedures, please listen to our podcasts in English, Cantonese and Mandarin:

On June 23 morning, Calgary was showered by rain but Wing Kei was shined by love! Over 1,000 participants proudly showed up at the Chinese Cultural Centre for the 18th annual Wing Kei Walkathon in their bright yellow t-shirts, raising over $270,000 dollars! We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all our sponsors, dignitaries, volunteers and staff members. THANK YOU to those who came out to support the Walk For Seniors. We are truly inspired by your effort and resilience. Indeed, we walk the walk together!
On Friday April 20, 2018, we are delighted to have Honourable Sarah Hoffman (Deputy Premier & Minister of Health) amongst our seniors in Wing Kei Crescent Heights. Her warmth has brought sunshine smiles to our residents, while Minister Hoffman soaked herself in the warm welcome from residents, and admired creativity in their art and craftwork. She was impressed with our excellent care, our role in training future professionals, and our vision in growth and supporting aging in place. Minister Hoffman has a lot of interest in our strategic plan, and also spent time at the Centre Street West Campus site to understand our growth proposal.
Wing Kei Crescent Heights gladly received Ms. Lu Xu, Consul General of People's Republic of China in Calgary and Mr. Zhenting Gao, Deputy Consul General of People's Republic of China in Calgary at their visit on March 2, 2018. We shared the mutual passion of serving the growing Chinese population in Calgary. Chinese New Year greetings were sent to seniors on all the floors. Lively conversations were shared between the visitors, residents and families. Residents were especially happy receiving mandarin oranges (meaning “gift of Gold” in Chinese) from our guests.
Blessed with sunshine and support from Wing Kei’s friends, family members and community members, a beautiful celebration of Greenview Long Term Care Roof Topping was held on Friday, February 23, 2018. This signifies another major milestone of Wing Kei’s growth. We are thankful to the very encouraging words from all, and will continue to share more details as the construction progresses.
